Is a colon cleanse considered as natural remedies or medical remedies?

This term is used in Natural and Medical professions. Most of the time a colon cleanse is prescribed prior to a colonoscopy. It is prescribed by Herbalist if the system is acting sluggish and bowels are not regular, energy is minimal and stomach problems persist, however they also give something for the systems support to replace good nutrients and keep it hydrated. As an herbalist, I recommend this only if those conditions present themselves or as a regular routine, twice per year, usually winter and summer or spring and fall. Think about it, your eating habits in the summer are very different than those in the winter and so on and so on.Is a colon cleanse considered as natural remedies or medical remedies?
I don't think a colon cleanse is any kind of medical remedy, but it can be used as part of a treatment. For instance, people who get a colonoscopy have to cleanse their colon the night before. And there are some times when an enema is given for medical reasons.

But other than that, colon cleansing is pointless at best. Some people get enemas to lose weight, or to flatten their stomachs, but they are losing a lot of nutrients that the intestines are meant to absorb. And ';colon cleansing'; pills are most likely just laxatives, if not ';herbal supplements'; that don't actually do anything.

If you are concerned about your intestines, the all natural way to keep them in good shape is to eat enough fiber, at least 25 g a day. Fiber comes from many foods, especially vegetables, although you can also use fiber supplements.Is a colon cleanse considered as natural remedies or medical remedies?
Hello,

Depends, are you using natural supplements or synthetic(pills)? Surely it's a very good thing to do at least once every 6 months, providing your eating habits are poor! You want a colon cleansed from all that extra guk that can cause problems later in life! Stay clean and fit!
How about junk remedy? It sure isn't medical.
It probably depends on how much money is being charged for it.

Expensive: medical.

Inexpensive: ';Alternative';
They arent medical. No medical proffessional will EVER reccomend a colon cleanser. Because they are largely a money making scam that dont really do anything. Your body has an incredible ability to clean itself out provided you make the right life style choices that allow your body to do it,
None of the above.......it's not a ';REMEDY'; of any fricking kind. Why do these naturopathic, holistic, alternative medicine freaks come up with all these different ';remedies'; for a process (e.g. cleansing the colon) that is done routinely and safely all by itself by our own bodies? Huh. I wonder. Maybe it has something to do with people being hypochondriacs? Or maybe tree-hugging granolas that have let themselves be convinced that making yourself have to literally sprint to the bathroom with an embarrassing case of the runs to purge for a few days is a real fun time? OR, could it be a way for enterprising people to coax you out of your money? Hmmm.

Jeez people are dumb.
